Girl on Fire mani

 "Girl on Fire" Mani

I saw a preview of the DriKK  plate B some time ago, and have been dying to finally get it so I could use the flame stamp. While I love doing nail art and am not so bad at freehand flames, the idea of having a gorgeous flame like this at my disposal....well, it excited me! So our shipment of plates came in yesterday, however i couldn't play with it because I had a bunch of pre-orders that I promised would go immediately out! So I spent last night packing them up. Tonight was my night to play!!!

So, here is my first mani in honor of 'The Girl on Fire'....
Used:
Duri Rejuvacote (base coat)
DRK-B Flames stamp
Model's Own Copper Pot
(from new Beetle Juice collection)
Glitter Gals Shade Shifters Brilliant colors sponged
Seche Vite (top coat)... details on how I did it below!
First I put on a coat of Rejuvacote, I'm loving this stuff. I have a horrible tendency to break my nails and the corners, they are growing back super fast with this stuff ;)

Then I put on 2 coats of Model's Own Copper Pot from the new Beetle Juice collection. This polish doesn't get enough love, and I could not capture its beauty in this pic. It has a subtle green shimmer when the light hits it just right.

I then took the new Glitter Gals Shade Shifters, the ones in the Brilliant Collection. I didn't use Wild Violets because I didn't think this mani needed purple. I could not capture the true sparkling beauty of this gradient. The top of my nails is still the Copper Pot showing through, then a layer of Fiery Furnace Glow Brilliant, followed by a layer of Red Night Sky Brilliant and lastly tipped off with a layer of Last Light Brilliant. These looks amazing and a lot like a glowing fire on my nails :)

Finally, after a quick coat of Seche Vite, I stamped the fabulous flame stamp from the DRK-b plate. I always use Seche Vite before I stamp and if I boo-boo a stamp, I can quickly brush it away with a clean-up brush of acetone without redoing the entire nail ;)

I was curious to see how it would look in the nail and I LOVE it. It is wide enough to fit fully across my thumb. This width also allowed me to use different parts of the pattern on different nails so it didn't look just like the same flame over and over again. You can catch some glimpses of the sparkle in this pic....it is so gorgeous in person!

End result, I was very very pleased with this!!

Everything I used with the exception of the Ellen Gold black cream that I used to stamp is currently available on my store, NinjaPolish.com, all currently in stock (I know, amazing right?) ;)

I hope you enjoyed this blog post! I don't get much time to blog anymore, however I think about blogging a lot! I am going to try to post more often again ;) <3

PS... Yes, the Hunger Games rule! I loved those books and was very disappointed they didn't show her flames mani in the movie! So, since they won't put the effort in, here is my version.

  2. That settles it, I need the DRK-B plate! I've wanted flames even before I read the hunger games. The gold and black combo is terrific.
